Membership chair
Christopher Kingsbury (Incumbent)
Chris received a BLA from UGA in 1979 and a MS from Georgia Tech’s College of Architecture focused on City Planning in 1986. His career has been focused on design and program management for public sector clients. He is currently the Southeast Business Development Manager for Atlas Technical Consultants (formerly known as Moreland Altobelli Associates) and has been an active member of ASLA since 1980. His interest in helping grow our chapter’s membership is rooted in the examples set by many of the landscape architects he has worked with over his career and understanding the need to help the next generation grow and develop their careers. An active recreational bike rider, he enjoys using many of the multi-use trails and shared street projects he has helped implement. Chris and his wife Kathy are long time residents of Avondale Estates and involved in a wide range of community activities.

Jay Gehler
I was raised in small town Waterloo, WI and started my landscaping career by planting nursery stock for McKay Nursery, a local tree and shrub grower. I graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture and I’m licensed as a Landscape Architect in Wisconsin, Illinois and South Carolina, with my application pending in Georgia. Most of my career has been in the Design-Build realm and projects include single and multi-family residential and resort homes, commercial and recreational projects. I have no clients, but my many friends include home developers and general contractors, landscape architects, architects, civil engineers and planners, golf course superintendents, school districts and green industry professionals just like you!
I have served multiple terms as Treasurer and President of the Wisconsin Chapter ASLA. During that tenure the Wisconsin Chapter not only achieved Practice Licensure for Landscape Architects, signed into law in 2009, but also successfully defended against legislative Reform/Repeal in 2016-2018. I have chaired the Design-Build PPN and the ASLA Professional Practice Network Council and currently serve on the ASLA Government Affairs Committee. I have also served on the Board of Directors of the Midwest Ecological Landscape Alliance (MELA) and Wisconsin Landscape Contractors Association (WLCA). I currently serve GA ASLA as Chair of Government Affairs and Co-Chair the Coastal Section with Audra!
